Welcome to my journey to coziness, happiness and joy!

I am in a stage of life when the best begins. Soon I will be married, I will own little house, and I will do things that I love even more often.
One might ask, why soon? why not now?
I’d answer that now it’s time to get ready and get things done.

Let’s begin with the house project.
There is a house in a country side, on the suburbs of a big city where I grew up. I used to live there with my parents and for a short period of time with my younger sister. Then, my family moved to a new house. Bigger, prettier, and the one that my parents have always dreamt about. I, on the other hand, moved to the city. I experienced living in a student apartment, in a tiny studio with my boyfriend and recently on the last floor of 100 year-old house with my fiancé. There were good and bad things about all those places and now it’s time to experience yet another one. Or actually… it’s time to come back to my family home.
We have decided with my fiancé to renovate the house, which haven’t been inhabited for more than 5 years. And yes, it’s long enough to make renovation a challenge.

There’s not much we’ve done in the house so far so the only thing I can share right now are my inspirations. I am Scandinavia lover, or more precisely: Sweden lover. The essence of cosiness and style is what I find in typical Swedish homes. Yes, IKEA too, but there’s definitely more to explore.

Have you heard about the Danish phenomenon called HYGGE? Swedes have their own phenomenon and it’s called MYS.

HYGGE -  In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. There's nothing more hygge than sitting round a table, discussing the big and small things in life.

MYS - An informal Swedish term for coziness, comfort and relaxation, especially at home. Source: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mys

For me, the most mysiga moments are when I sit at home, it’s dark and cold outside, there’s little pillow and a blanket around, candles are lit and I’m reading a book. Mys is also when its Friday night, we order pizza, watch some old movie on TV, and we don’t pretend anything. We don’t care what we’re wearing, we don’t care if the room is cleaned, we just chill out...

Here's what my Christmas mys looked like.
